Definition: Quoted as "Hi-tech, low-life."

Where it fits: In the book, a Megacorporation, Presteign, has take over the futuristic earth. The world is in a planetary/ intergalactic war. Crime rates have skyrocketed, due to human advancements. For instance, the renegade Scientific People have a crude "forgotten" tattooing process. The main character, Gully, is often faced with situations where there is no real choice, or easy way out. After hasty decisions are made, he is really not much farther than he was before. Technology has taken over the criminals. Gully has even transformed into half robot thing in the second part.

Where it doesn't fit: Later in the book, Gully does not fit the "stupid" punk type that is so aptly describing cyber punk. He become more intelligent, and not blindly going after VORGA, but he knows what hes doing now. Bsdies that, i think it comepletly utterly fits the Cyber Punk Genre
